Alappuzha (Kerala) : For Minister of State for Civil Aviation K.C. Venugopal, it was being airborne in quite a different way. For the first time in his life, he was in a parachute here.
At the exhibition event held at the Police Ground here Saturday, the 49-year-old minister and Lok Sabha member from Alappuzha, who has also served three terms as legislator from here, jumped off in a parachute and had a perfect landing, as people gathered at the grounds applauded.
“I did this to promote a spirit of adventure among the youth,” the minister said, even though he appeared a little nervous and wore a grim expression, after his safe landing.
