Himachal achieved 95 percent of NRHM target: Dhumal

Shimla : Himachal Pradesh was able to achieve 95 percent of targets under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said here Monday.

In a letter to union Health Minister Gulam Nabi Azad, Dhumal said the state optimally utilised the budgetary provisions under the rural health programme.

The chief minister said from 2008-12, the total allocation under the NRHM was about Rs.4.8 billion, while the expenditure incurred under the programme was about Rs.4.9 billion, “which showed the achievement was about 102 percent”.

Dhumal also asked the health minister for his support, “so that better and efficient health services were made available to the people”, especially those residing in the remote areas of the state.
