“It’s delayed but it was the right decision which followed due process of law to execute the man who orchestrated a bloodbath of several innocent people,” Singh said in an official press statement issued Wednesday evening.

He added that Kasab’s execution was also a warning to people those involved in violence and terrorism activities in India.

Kasab was hanged to death at the Yerawada central prison at Pune Wednesday morning in a top-secret operation.

As the news of the militant’s hanging spread via television channels, activists of the state’s ruling BJP as well as the Congress burst crackers to hail the execution, which came just a few days before the fourth anniversary of the attack on India’s financial capital.
