Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Tuesday did not take his customary press conference on board his special aircraft while returning from a foreign visit due to slight indisposition.
Parliament convenes Nov 22 and opposition parties are gearing up to take on the government on several issues, including corruption and FDI in multi-brand retail.
“The prime minister is not feeling too well and will not be speaking to the media,” said an official source, soon after the prime minister boarded the plane after ending his official visit to the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh where he attended the Asean-India and East Asia summits.
Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has announced that she will move a no-confidence motion against the government in parliament over the issue of FDI. Her party had quit the ruling UPA in September on the matter.
The prime minister usually meets the media on board the special aircraft and takes questions on foreign and national issues.
Instead, Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma took the questions from media.
