New Delhi : Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit Friday ordered the authorities to ensure proper functioning of street lights in the national capital.
She expressed concern over the non-functioning street lights despite the installation of the supervisory control and data acquisition (Scada) system. It is a type of system that controls and monitors electrical systems through computer.
“It seems that proper monitoring over Scada is not being done,” Sheila Dikshit said in a meeting.
The chief minster asked state Chief Secretary P.K. Tripathi to devise a mechanism after detail consultations with all concerned agencies to ensure well-lit roads matching to a world-class city.
The meeting was attended, among others, by Power Minister Haroon Yusuf and Public Works Department Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan.
