New Delhi : Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit Wednesday said she had received signals about her possible induction in the union cabinet, but a decision would be taken by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
Dikshit told Headlines Today she had got feelers from the party leadership and was ready to take up a new assignment.
“I got definite signals from the high command, but it is not a decision I can take. If I get another assignment, I am ready. It is for the prime minister and the Congress president to take the call. I enjoy doing this job. I am passionately in love with Delhi and Delhi-wallahs,” Dikshit said.
Dikshit is into her third term as chief minister.
Asked if she would spearhead the campaign for the Delhi assembly elections next year, she said she would if she continued as chief minister.
“Yes, if I am around. But no, if there is a change in between. Anything can happen,” she said.
There is speculation that the anticipated reshuffle of cabinet will be held in the third week of October.
