New Delhi : Trade unions of Gurgaon workers Thursday held a protest against Maruti Suzuki in the capital demanding cancellation of termination orders of nearly 550 workers.
The Maruti workers were sacked after violence broke out at the company’s Manesar plant in July.
The protesters also demanded end to an unofficial lockout at Eastern Medikit’s four plants in Gurgaon during the rally at Jantar Mantar here.
Unions affiliated to Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS), including unions from Suzuki Powertrain, Suzuki two-wheeler plant, Maruti’s Gurgaon plant, Hero Moto Corp, Lumax, Omex, Ricco, Eastern Medikit, Napino Auto, Roop Rubber and Indian Railways, took part in the protest march.
The protesters also handed over a memorandum of demands at the residence of Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in the capital, a union leader said.
