Hyderabad : With the Supreme Court Friday dismissing the bail petition of YSR Congress Party leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy in the illegal assets case, the party is contemplating to file a review petition in the apex court.
The party has also asked its cadre not to be disappointed but work with renewed vigour to strengthen the organisation under the leadership of Y.S. Vijayamma, mother of Jaganmohan Reddy.
“We are in touch with legal experts and are exploring options which include filing of a review petition,” said YSR party spokesman Ambati Rambabu.
He said the sequence of events that unfolded at Delhi on the eve of the verdict led to the suspicion of a conspiracy to keep Jaganmohan Reddy in jail for a longer period.
Rambabu said leaders of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) met union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram Thursday, hours before the Enforcement Directorate issued orders attaching Jagan’s properties. He said the meeting and the EC order on the eve of the bail plea hearing was not a coincidence.
Rambabu said while they were disappointed with the court verdict, they had not lost hopes.
