Kolkata: Mohun Bagan’s chief football coach Santosh Kashyap resigned Saturday, taking responsibility for the club’s poor performance in the current season so far.
The club said in a statement that Kashyap, who was appointed chief coach for the season in June, put in his papers in view of the team’s “below average performance in the current season 2012-13”.
Kashyap, a former Air India coach, was under pressure after Mohun Bagan’s early exit in the Federation Cup and back-to-back losses in the I-League.
The club management has accepted Kashyap’s resignation, the statement said.
