“Women’s 25 organisations are with us and soon we’ll launch a nationwide campaign called ‘Women Against Violence’,” said Sudha Sudararaman, general secretary of All India Democratic Women Association.

The organisations and activists are specially angry at the spate of rape cases in Haryana in recent weeks.

“This condition of women is not only in Haryana. Several other states are witnessing similar incidents,” Sundararaman said at a press conference here.

The activists also expressed concern about crimes against women in West Bengal and Karnataka.

The campaign, they said, will run at all levels.

The campaign will pursue justice for and rehabilitation of the victims in Haryana, and seek making the police, administration and social and political leadership accountable.

An activist said assurances of politicians have to be put into practice and there should a feeling of security among women.
