Three Maoist ultras apprehended in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: Three senior Maoist guerrillas were apprehended Saturday in two separate incidents in Chhattisgarh, police said.

A woman Maoist commander was picked up from the Kumarkutta jungles in Rajnandgaon district whereas two male guerrillas were arrested in a combing operation from Kanker district.

Officials at police headquarters here said that the three ultras were wanted in at least seven deadly attacks on police and civilians in the state’s western region as well as in the restive Bastar region where Maoists have been running a parallel government in the interiors since the late 1980s.
