New Delhi: According to media reports, Fasih Mahmood, accused of involvement in a conspiracy to carry out bomb blasts in Bangalore and Delhi, has been extradited on Monday.
Fasih, 28, was arrested on May 13, 2012 allegedly from Abu Jubail, Saudi Arabia. He has since been in Saudi prison, as Saudi administration had denied extraditing him.

Fasih hails from Darbhanga in Bihar and is an engineer. His family had filed a Habeas corpus petition in the Supreme Court seeking information on his arrest. Indian security agencies accuse him of being a member of Indian Mujahideen (IM).
When TCN contacted his wife Nikhat Parveen, she said she too came to know about extradition from media people and have no official information.
According to police, Mehmood was deported from Saudi Arabia. As soon as he reached Delhi airport he was taken into custody.
“A year ago, he was arrested by Saudi Arabia police, and has since been in custody in that country. Investigative agencies in Delhi were in constant touch with Saudi Arabian authorities for his deportation to India,” a senior police official told news agency IANS.
Union home secretary RK Singh has meanwhile termed his extradition an ‘important catch.’ He said: “Our officers were in touch with Saudi Arabia…It was a very important catch. He was deported by Saudi Arabia.”
