New Delhi : Asking traders not to “evade” value added tax (VAT), Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit Wednesday said the revenue is crucial for the development of the city.
The chief minister asked the traders “not to do anything for evasion of taxes” when they met Dikshit at her residence here to sort out issues related to VAT collection and other problems that they face in the process.
The traders have been helpful and sensitive throughout, she said.
“The VAT being collected from the traders is only used to develop world class infrastructure in Delhi,” Dikshit said in a statement.
Praveen Khandelwal, national general secretary of the Confederation of All India Traders, led the delegation.
The traders demanded settlement of the difficulties relating to form 32 and 33 and some problems in dealing with form 2A and 2B. They also mentioned difficulties in obtaining form C from other states.
Dikshit, however announced that the date of submission of form C2 has been extended up to Dec 31, as requested by the traders.
