New Delhi : Jitender Singh, who was Sunday elevated from minister of state for home to minister of state (independent charge) for youth affairs and sports, has also been allocated the portfolio of minister of state for defence, a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique said.
“The President of India, as advised by the Prime Minister, has directed that Shri Jitendra Singh, who was allocated the portfolio of Minister of State with Independent Charge of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, shall also be allocated the portfolio of Minister of State in the Ministry of Defence,” the communique said.
It further said that the portfolio of Jitin Prasada, who was shown as minister of state for defence and human resource development in the earlier press communique, shall be changed to read as minister of state for human resource development only.
