Jitin Prasada takes over as HRD minister of state

New Delhi : Jitin Prasada Monday took charge as minister of state for human resource development following the ministerial reshuffle Sunday.

Prasada, who is Lok Sabha member from Dhaurahra in Uttar Pradesh, was minister of state for road transport and highways.

As minister of state in the HRD ministry, he shares the charge with Shashi Tharoor. The HRD ministry has seen an overall change, with M. Pallam Raju taking over as the new HRD minister from Kapil Sibal.

Raju is expected to take over charge Tuesday.
