Kolkata : Two people were arrested while a complaint was lodged against a third in three different cases of molestation and attempted rape in West Bengal, police said Sunday.
In Diamond Harbour of South 24 Parganas district a middle-aged man was arrested for molesting a minor school girl.
“We have arrested a man for allegedly molesting a 14-year-old school girl who lives near her house. The incident happened Saturday when the victim girl was returning from school. Following a complaint today (Sunday) we have arrested the alleged offender,” an officer of the Diamond Harbour police station said.
In another incident in Murshidabad district’s Behrampore a man was arrested for allegedly trying to rape a married woman. After the woman raised an alarm, the man was caught by the villagers and thrashed before being handed over to the police.
In North 24 Parganas’ Ghola town, a woman has lodged a complaint that her 4-year-old daughter has been repeatedly subjected to physical harassment and molestation by the driver of her pool car.
“We have received a complaint of molestation against a pool car driver. The woman has complained that the driver used to repeatedly physically harass the nursery student,” a police official of Ghola police station said.
The incident came to light Saturday when a classmate of the girl who also uses the same pool car told about the girls ordeal to her parents following which the parents lodged a complaint Sunday.
