New Delhi : Ahead of talks with his Chinese counterpart Gen. Liang Guanglie, Defence Minister A. K. Antony said Monday India has conveyed its concerns to China about its activities in Pakistan-administered Kashmir and asked it to stop such activities.
“Government is aware of the infrastructure development by China at the border and their undertaking infrastructure projects in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK),” Antony said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.
“Government has conveyed its concerns to China about their activities in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and asked them to cease such activities,” he said.
Chinese infrastructure development on the India-China border and its activities in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir will be among a slew of issues that will be discussed between the foreign ministers of India and China Tuesday.
Antony Tuesday will hold wide-ranging talks with Liang, who is currently on a four-day visit to India.
The visit is expected to cuminate in a slew of confidence-building measures between the militaries of the two countries.
This is the first visit by a Chinese defence minister in the last eight years. Liang’s visit comes just ahead of the once-in-a decade leadership change in China expected later this year.
Cao Gangchuan was the last Chinese defence minister to visit India in March 2004.
