Hyderabad: The arrests after busting of an alleged Bangalore terror plot and the arrest of nearly 18 Muslim youths till now from Bangalore, Hubli, Hyderabad and Nanded is now moving closely to Hyderabad by counter- terrorism teams of different states.
Obaidur rehman arrested from Hyderabad after the crackdown and arrest of 11 youths from Bangalore was portrayed as Hyderabad connection to the terror plot, and the interstate operation of the alleged terrorists. In the recent development the arrest of Mohd Akram Pasha in the assassination’s plot conspiracy is also said to have connections with Hyderabad. A resident of Nanded he moved to Hyderabad stayed here for a while and maintained a fruit juice center in the suburb of the city before flying off to Saudi Arabia from Hyderabad.
Hyderabad police is trying to find out connections and social network of Akram Pasha in the city, which is going to be a big catastrophe for every Muslim youth who maintained any type of contact with Akram Pasha during his brief stay in the city.
Now even some similar names which were implicated after the Mecca masjid bomb blast are making rounds in the mainstream media quoting sources from IB, Bangalore, or Hyderabad police.
One such name is Mohd Abdul Majeed from Hyderabad who was arrested, tortured and presented before the public as Mecca Masjid bomb blast kingpin but later acquitted in all charges by the court. Majeed is the brother of Mohd Abdul Shahid alias Shahid bilal an alleged Hizbul Mujahideen commander reportedly killed in a shoot down in Karachi.
Abdul Majeed was one among many Muslim youths who were awarded monetary compensation and good character certificate by the A.P govt. acknowledging their police force’s blunder.
He however was unable to collect the amount as he is for now is staying in Saudi Arabia, but according to the police Majeed flayed to KSA on 12-09-2009 to evade arrest in other petty cases. But according to Majeed’s father Majeed was flown out of Hyderabad as per the instructions of AP police, because as the kingpin of Mecca Masjid blast theory was acquitted and out, Majeed’s stay in the city could have caused huge embarrassment for the Hyderabad police.
Now Abdul Majeed name has again cropped up in media and police circles, suggesting him to be the handler from Saudi Arabia of these 18 people arrested so far, and Akram Pasha is presented as a link between Majeed and other arrested accused. As days are passing with police coming out with innovative theories of Assassinations plot with new links with Hyderabad, former terror acquittals are fearing a new chapter of fresh terror arrests could very well began, again in Hyderabad soon.
