New Delhi : A special court here has allowed the CBI to quiz its data entry operator and three others for allegedly hacking the bank account of the probe agency’s officials and misusing Rs.1.5 crore, said a source Wednesday.
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Special Judge Talwant Singh handed over the custody of the probe agency’s data entry operator, Prashant Kumar Jha, and his three associates to investigators.
The court, in a order passed Tuesday, had sent them to two days CBI custody.
Jha along with Pawan Mishra, Amit Ranjan Mishra and Amol Kumar Ray allegedly hacked the bank account of CBI officials. He then used some forged cheques issued in their names and encashed them.
The CBI booked them under charges of criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery and other corruption charges.
The case was registered on a complaint by pay and accounts office, which works under the finance ministry and manages accounts of the CBI.
The complainant alleged the fraud was detected in the accounts of the CBI related to fiscal 2011-12 and 2012-13.
