Dubai : Emirates, one of the fastest growing airlines in the world, has launched a daily non-stop service from Dubai to Washington’s Dulles international airport.
This was the seventh destination for Emirates in the US, and the 12th new route in the airline’s international network in 2012.
A delegation on board the inaugural flight from Dubai included Emirates Airline president Tim Clark and US Ambassador to the UAE Michael Corbin.
Emirates will also launch daily service to Algeria capital Algiers from March 2013, marking the next stage of growth for the airline’s thriving African network.
“Algiers will be our 22nd destination in Africa, providing a wealth of new travel options for customers in Algeria, who will be able to fly non-stop to our industry leading hub in Dubai and conveniently connect to points across the Middle East, Asian Subcontinent, the Far East and Australasia,” said Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airline and Group.
Algeria will become the airline’s 130th destination.
