New Delhi : Three people, including an engineering student, have been arrested here for circulating an obscene MMS clip, police said Friday.
Mobin, 25, Mangat, 20, and Tinku, 29, were arrested following a complaint registered against them by a girl in northwest Delhi.
The complainant has alleged that Mobin, her then boyfriend, recorded explicit pictures of her on his cell phone in October-November 2010 at his friend’s house. Both of them separated after this incident.
Later, Mobin tried to blackmail the girl to restart the relationship by threatening to make the MMS public. However, the girl refused.
Mobin then circulated her MMS to his friends.
Police registered a complaint against Mobin Sep 11 for the offences dealing with transmitting defamatory matter, criminal intimidation and various charges under the Information Technology Act.
Mobin’s associates were arrested for being instrumental in the MMS’ transmission. Police have also seized the mobile phones used in the crime.
