Rampur: Chief Minister (CM) Akhilesh Yadav assured that every possible step will be taken for making Mohammad Ali Jauhar University as a centre of world repute. He also stated that every hindrance will be removed by the state government.
Akhilesh was addressing the inaugural function of Jauhar University at Rampur. The function was organised by cabinet minister Azam Khan.
Akhilesh also stated that with the setting up of the Jauhar University, a dream of getting quality and higher education by the porr and minorities has been fulfilled. Akhilesh also said that the university’s foundation stone was laid six years ago and every effort was made to stall the project. But it is now a reality due to the efforts of Azam Khan. Akhilesh also assured that any hindrance will be now removed by the state government.
Mulayam Singh Yadav, the chief of Samajwadi Party too addressed the function and remarked that he himself had inaugurated the university six years ago. He also hailed the role of Maulana Mohammd Ali Jauhar and his brother Shaukat Ali in the freedom movement. Mulayam also asked Akhilesh Yadav to consider setting up a medical college in the university.
Azam Khan who was dressed in off white sherwani with a Rampuri cap was in tears while delivering his speech. He thanked Mulayam Singh for the support which he had given for setting up the university. He also stated that the university belongs to everyone. He also remembered the hardships which he had faced during the setting up of the university.
On the occasion, a pillar with Quaranic verses was also unveiled.
The function was attended by thousands while almost every minister of UP arrived to be witness to the inauguration of the university.
