Bhubaneswar : Odisha Tuesday approved industrial investment proposals worth Rs.26,076 crore in the state including a mega project worth Rs.16,345.89 crore by state-run National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO).
A high level committee led by Chief Minister Navin Patnaik approved the project proposals in a high level meeting at state capital Bhubaneswar. The projects were approved by the High Level Clearance Authority (HLCA), the state’s highest approval body and included a project by Nalco, a senior state official told IANS.
Nalco has proposed to set up a 0.5 mtpa smelter plant and a 1,260 mega watt capacity captive power plant in the district of Sundergarh at an investment of Rs.16,345.89 crore, he said.
The other projects include a 12 million tonne per annum iron ore benefication plant and a 4 mtpa pelletisation plant in the district of Keonjhar by Bhusan Steel, a coal-based ammonia plant at Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district by Chennai-based Bharat Coal and Chemicals Ltd.
