Chandigarh : The Haryana government Friday decided to hire special trainers of international repute to train athletes who have their origins in the state.
Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced that players of the state would be provided training facility from special trainers of international repute in view of the changing sports techniques.
Hooda was addressing a state level function organised here to honour the state’s 10 players and one coach here today who had been awarded with the Khel Ratna, Dronacharya, Dhyanchand and Arjuna Awards this year.
Cheques amounting to a total of Rs.24 lakh were presented. Hooda said that Haryana has become the first state in the country to honour and give cash awards to the winners of Khel Ratna, Dronacharya, Dhyanchand and Arjuna awards.
