Six killed in Pune building collapse

Pune : Six people, including a woman, were killed and 15 injured when a four-storey residential building collapsed here Monday, police said.

The tragedy occurred around 2 p.m. when the under-construction building in the city’s Dhankavli area came crashing down, a police official said.

Police and fire brigade teams rescued the injured from the debris and rushed them to a government-run hospital where their condition was reported to be stable.

Efforts were on ascertain if more people were still trapped under the debris.

According to a civic official, a five-member family and some labourers were living in the building through it was not certified for occupation.
