“Three taxi drivers – Satnam, Sonu and Satish – at around 10:40 a.m. found the foreign national coming to the parking lot and leaving a bag there. They followed him and then caught hold of him. After getting unsatisfactory replies from him, the taxi drivers informed police,” said a police officer.

Following this, panic gripped the whole area, which was vacated immediately. Fire and bomb disposal squads were called in.

Inside the bag, police found some papers, a box and dollars.

“There were no explosive items in the bag and the papers are being verified. Meanwhile, we have detained the foreigner, who identified himself as Martin from Nigeria. We have to verify the credentials of this man as he has not shown any passport,” said S.K. Jain, deputy commissioner of police (crime and railways).

However, the investigating officer said that Martin looked like a member of a “black dollar” racket, who cheat people on the pretext of giving money as lottery.
