New Delhi : The Group of Ministers examining provisions of the land acquisition bill met here Thursday to exchange views but no decision was taken.
Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, who heads the group, said the next meeting would be held after Oct 4, upon his return from a visit to Vietnam.
“No decision happened today,” Pawar told reporters.
The government had constituted the group after some ministers voiced reservations on provisions in the bill which were seen as hurdles to infrastructure development and investor sentiment.
The bill, now renamed The Right to Fair Compensation, Resettlement, Rehabilitation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, was introduced in the parliament last September and was later referred to a standing committee.
