Ghaziabad: The CBI Thursday sought to add some more papers as new evidence in the Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case but the defence opposed the move, holding that there is no such provision in law.
“It is only possible when further investigation is ordered while CBI had already submitted closure report in the case. Most importantly, the CBI had not enclosed the documents to be perused,” said lawyers for the main accused – Aarushi’s parents Rajesh and Nupur Talwar.
After seeing the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) application and its counter, Special CBI Judge S. Lal ordered the agency to enclose the documents so that the court could see the merits of the paper.
Complying with the orders, the CBI furnished the detailed documents. The court then adjourned the hearing for Saturday.
Aarushi, 14, was found murdered at her parents’ Noida residence May 16, 2008. The body of the family’s domestic help Hemraj was found the next day on the terrace of the house.
