Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been elected as one of the facilitation panel members by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) in Canada.
With the inclusion of UAE, represented by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), the ICAO facilitation panel members now comprise 30 states. This panel meets once in two years.
The facilitation aspect in civil aviation environment holds importance as it seeks to achieve maximum efficiency in border clearance operations, and at the same time, maintain high-quality security and effective law enforcement, a release said.
