Al Misbah initiates discussion on improving educational situation of minorities in Assam

Guwahati: In an attempt to improve the educational situation of Muslims in Assam, Al Misbah Educational Trust organized a meeting on March 31 in the state capital at Haji Musafir Khana.

In Assam, Muslims are the most backward in socio economic condition. Therefore from various corner, the demand of economic upliftment and spreading education is given, but they are alienated and easily deprived by the government.

Quality modern and scientific education may bring prosperity for Muslim as well as for Assam.

The meeting was attended by distinguished Muslim personalities like Mahbubul Haque, Chancellor of University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya; Yasin Akhtar, Director of Darul Kalam, Delhi; Seikh Chand Mahammad, Ex speaker of Assam Assembly; Abdul Mannan of Gauhati University; Zakir Hussain, editor of Gana Adhikar and many more.

The organizing committee was keen to establish a University in Chipajhar sub division of Mangaldoi District. They are now looking for fund to buy 150 bighas of land and develop infrastructure.

A threadbare discussion took place over the socio-economic condition of Muslims in Assam, and panelists agreed that education is the only way to bring prosperity to this community.
