New Delhi: Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) observes April 14, the birth day of Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar, as Social Justice Day.
The party has designed various programmes to express solidarity with different struggles for social justice going in India. The party will start campaign demanding reservation in education and employment for socially and educationally backward and down trodden class of people, proportional to their population.
The one year long campaign will be inaugurated by the National President A Sayeed at Kolkata on the Social Justice Day. Sharfuddin Ahmed General Secretary, Sam Kutty Jacob Vice-President, Noushad Punnakkal National Working Committee member will attend the function.
Swapan Kumar Biswas President Dalith – Muslim Friendship Association, Vikram Sarkar President Bharathiya Bahujan Samaj Party, Tayedul Islam State President Social Democratic Party of India will also participate.
Different programmes are planned in states to observe the day. Seminars are to be conducted in seven centers in Tamil Nadu. Rajasthan state committee of the party is conducting a seminar in the state capital Jaipur.
An award is to be distributed in Kerala for the best media work on Dalith issues. Manipur and Kerala are conducting a poster campaign. In Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh a public meeting is to be conducted.
