Lucknow : Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati Wednesday said that her party was prepared for the Lok Sabha elections whenever they are held.
Addressing party workers here, the BSP supremo appreciated their efforts in spreading the philosophy of the Dalit movement and said they should now work to translate it into votes.
Pointing out that the Lok Sabha elections could be held anytime now, Mayawati said the people were fed up with the union government and a political uncertainty could necessitate the polls before they are scheduled in 2014.
She also asked BSP workers to fan out in the state and expose the Samajwadi Party (SP) government’s “misrule”.
“People are fed up with the SP’s misrule in the state. Now they are remembering the good rule of the BSP and regretting their decision to vote for others,” Mayawati said.
Time has come, she added, “when the anti-Dalit parties are uprooted in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls and bring to an end an era of political uncertainty, inflation, corruption and lack of development”.
She also tried to boost up her party workers’ morale by saying the BSP would “make it big” in the next Lok Sabha polls.
