The four-member medical panel has shot down the possibility of Sarabjit Singh being sent abroad for specialised treatment and decided that he would continue to be treated in Pakistan, Geo News reported Monday.

The panel has informed the caretaker Punjab government of its decision, sources were quoted as saying.

Lahore Jinnah Hospital Principal Mahmood Shaukat, who heads the panel, conducted an examination of Sarabjit Singh and his two CT scan reports.

Sarbajit Singh has suffered severe head injuries and his operation was not possible according to the medical board, added sources.

The other members of the medical board are Professor Zafar Iqbal, Professor Anjum Habib and Professor Naem Kasuri.

The caretaker government of Punjab state had announced the constitution of the panel.

Sarabjit Singh was admitted to a Lahore hospital after a vicious attack on him at the Kot Lakhpat jail April 26. He is in coma. His family has arrived in Pakistan on a special visa issued by the Pakistan government.
