The Yemeni activist came from Yemeni capital Sana’a to Cairo International Airport to find out that her name was on a watchlist upon request of a security institution and she was deported back to Sana’a.

Xinhua said that Karman recently expressed support to ousted Islamist president Mohamed Morsi and declared that she would come to Egypt to join pro-Morsi protesters in a sit-in at Rabia al-Adawiya Square in Cairo.

Karman, a Yemeni journalist and the first Arab woman to win the Nobel peace prize, was a leading figure in the Yemeni 2011 uprising that toppled then president Ali Abdullah Saleh.
