AMU not shielding Prof. Shabbir: VC

    By TCN News,

Aligarh: The Aligarh Muslim University has clarified that the Vice Chancellor is no way trying to shield Prof. M. Shabbir. The clarification was issued only in the interest of the victim who during her interaction with the Vice Chancellor complained that she was being asked embarrassing questions about her “rape”.

The clarification by the Vice Chancellor brought out the correct facts as explained by the victim and her father during their meeting on December 9, 2013.

The Vice Chancellor condemns all acts of misbehavior against women and will protect all their interests on the AMU campus. Prof. Shabbir will be answerable for his deeds by the due process of law.

It is also clarified that Shahzad Alam cannot claim to be a former president of AMU Students’ Union as reported by a section of media since he was expelled for indiscipline and misappropriation of AMUSU funds.

Meanwhile, a non-bailable arrest warrant has been issued against the professor.
