Islamabad: At least seven people, including three children, were killed and several others wounded when a house caught fire in Pakistan’s Rawalpindi city Saturday, media reported.

The fire erupted in a house located in Satellite Town area of Rawalpindi, the sister city of the country’s capital Islamabad, after an explosion in refrigerator’s compressor, Xinhua reported citing Express TV.

Seven people of a family, including a couple and their three children, burnt to death in the blaze, while two other people of the neighbouring house got injured as the fire engulfed surrounding houses too.

The injured have been shifted to hospital where their condition is said to be stable.

Police said that the incident seems to be an accident as refrigerator’s compressor apparently exploded due to fluctuation of electricity or short circuit.

Police said that they would give the final report about the incident after the completion of investigation process.
