Moscow: Moscow expects its cooperation with new US Secretary of State John Kerry to be fruitful, the Russian foreign ministry said Thursday.
“We rely on a constructive work with the new Secretary of State John Kerry,” Xinhua quoted ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich as saying.
He described Kerry as an experienced politician and said the appointment would assist in bilateral relations.
“We are open for a dialogue about all range of bilateral and global agenda. We are ready to move forward in solving problematic issues on the basis of equality and non-interference into each other’s domestic affairs, with the interests of the two states taken into account,” Lukashevich said.
Kerry, 69, was named to the post by US President Barack Obama replacing Hillary Clinton.
