Moscow: A Russian man, who was kidnapped in Syria in December and released earlier this week, returned home Sunday, an official said.
Viktor Gorelov, 66, arrived in Moscow from the Lebanese capital of Beirut Saturday.
He arrived at his home city of Novokuznetsk in Siberia Sunday morning after being held by Syrian rebels for 54 days.
Gorelov was abducted in Syria along with Abdessattar Khassun, who has double Russian-Syrian citizenship, and Italian national Mario Belluomo.
The three men were taken hostage by Syrian rebels while on their way from Homs to Tartus, home to a Russian naval base.
The Russian foreign ministry earlier said the three hostages were released in exchange for captured Syrian rebels.
