Moulana Suleman Sikandar passed away

Hyderabad: Eminent Muslim leader and Vice President of Majlis Tameer-e- Millat, Moulana Suleman Sikandar passed away here at the wee hours yesterday. 84 year old Moulana Suleman Sikandar was a great orator of his time was associated with Tameer-e Millat since its inception and was considered as a close aide of its founder president Khaleelullah Hussaini.

He was ailing for a long time. Namaz Janaza was performed at Masjid BadePa, in First Lancer, Ahmednagar after Asar and buried in nearby graveyard. He was survived by a widow, four sons and seven daughters.

Many Muslim religious leaders and representatives of several social and educational organisations attended the Namaz Janaza and console his family members. Among them were President Majlis Ulema Deccan Moulana Qubool Pasha Qaudri, Rector Jamia Nizamia Mufti Khaleel Ahmed, Hyderabad Mayor Mohd Majid Hussain, MIM MLA’s Ahmed Pasha Qaudri, Virasat Rasool Khan, and former Minister Mohd Ali Shabbir, Congress (I) leaders Zafar Javed, Khaleequr Rehman and President Indian Union Muslim Leauge AP Unit Abdul Sattar Mujahid.

President of the Majlis Tameer-e Millat Moulana Abdul Raheem Qureshi said with the death of Moulana Suleman Sikandar, the Muslims of Hyderabad lost a visionary leader who spent all his life in the service of Allah and Muslims. He was back bone of the organization and tirelessly worked the betterment of his community in every field.
