Police has arrested Owaisi after his medical reports were given to the police. Owaisi had asked for four days to be present before the police at Nirmal station for his schedule deposition in hate speech case. He had cited ill health for more time for deposition.

After medical tests in the morning, Akbaruddin was made to wait for four hours before final decision by the police was taken. Police has not been satisfied by the medical reports of Akbaruddin Owaisi and they arrested Akbaruddin for ‘not cooperating’ with the police in the hate speech case.

But Akbaruddin refused to get along with the police and even tried to get out of the hospital without the police permission, but doors of the emergency ward was closed and he was again escorted back in the hospital.

Soon after the drama he met his party MLAs in the hospital and then was taken out from another exit of the hospital and taken into police vehicle amidst slogan shouting from the supporters.

But Owaisi’s lawyer has claimed that he cooperated fully with the police, and in fact police didn’t cooperate with the MIM MLA and kept him in dark till he was finally arrested.

Meanwhile Owaisi’s personal doctors have claimed that medical reports have not been shown to them and Akabruddin was made to sit without food and water for 5 hours.

Now Police has taken him to Nirmal police station, 250 km from Hyderabad. The journey will be 3 hour long, an ambulance has also been provided in his police convoy to Nirmal, Adilabad.

Akbaruddin Owaisi will be presented before the magistrate at Nirmal, and it will be up to the magistrate to decide whether to give Akbaruddin Owaisi under police or judicial custody based on his medical reports.

Meanwhile, hearing in the writ petition, filed by Owaisi against several FIRs, is scheduled to be heard by the bench of the AP High Court tomorrow, and the decision of the HC on that petition will be decisive in the legal proceedings on the hate speech cases.

Hyderabad Police has beefed up security in the city especially in the old city, where on every half kilometer police has posted check points and pickets. Special police contingents are deployed in front of the MIM headquarter Darussalam.
