Hate speech case registered against Ram Jethmalani for his remarks on Ram

Hyderabad: Jedimetala police station, under the jurisdiction of Cyberabad police commissionerate, has registered a hate speech case against veteran advocate and BJP Rajya Sabha member Ram Jethmalani. Police has registered a case after getting orders from a local court at Medchall in the suburb of Hyderabad.

Local court has acted on the complaint filed by an advocate, Mohammed Saleem and directed Cyberabad police to investigate the matter and register a FIR.

Mohammed Saleem, in his complaint in the local court stated that Ram Jethmalani, during a book release function in New Delhi made negative remarks against Lord Ram which has offended the sentiments of Hindu community. Jethmalani was unregretful on his statement, and refused to apologize on his controversial remarks, he added.

Acting on court order, Jedimetala police station has registered case under Section 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, language) against Ram Jethmalani.
