Lucknow remained calm on Friday as death toll reaches two

Lucknow: No fresh incident of violence in the sectarian clashes at Lucknow on Friday. Administration had made elaborate arrangements for Friday prayers. However, the day passed off peacefully.

Tension was evident in the air with minimal traffic on roads which became deserted after the evening. The only development being Ved Prakash Yadav who was injured on Wednesday was declared dead by the doctors at trauma center of King George Medical University on Friday. Thus the toll reached two in sectarian clashes in Lucknow. The deceased’s parents had demanded action against the culprits. His father also lodged a FIR with police against unidentified persons.



Majlis in Wazirganj for deceased Suleman alias Shanu

Another development being that Shia Cleric Kalbe Jawwad and Sunni Cleric Mufti Irfan Farangi Mahli joined hands to appeal for peace. Both the clerics jointly demanded action against culprits of the violence. They also raised the demand for checking the source of funding of the culprits. A majlis was also held for the deceased Suleman alias Shanu in Wazirganj.



People lighted candles and prayed for the departed soul. Elsewhere, the schools remained closed on Friday in the disturbed area. Two persons who were stabbed by sharp edged weapons were also stable in the hospital. The worst affected area was Thakurganj as rumour mongers had a field day. Luckily the day passed with no fresh incident of violence.
