My Daughter My Dignity campaign organized by JIH women wing

Mumbai: “Meri Beti Meri Izzat” campaign was organized by the ladies wing of Jamate e Islami Hind (JIH) Mumbra and Girls Islamic Organisation (GIO) Mumbra unit from January 14 to 24, and concluded on a grand Women’s Conference on 24, at Dongre Compound.

The conference saw an overwhelming response with huge gathering of women and young girls.



“The main objective of this program was to spread awareness about the social ‘evils’ that are spreading rapidly in our society like vulgarity, declining of Hijab, nudity, blind following of western culture, exploitation of women in the name of freedom, adultery in the name of love etc,” said a press statement.

The message was spread through speeches, dramas, poem/ songs, video shows, etc. There was also an exhibition highlighting the dignity of women, women right in Islam and importance of Hijab.

A documentary on female feticide was also shown. Another drama presented the ‘ill effect of western culture.’

Salma Baig, the president of JIH women’s wings of Mumbai chapter, in her speech said, “No other religion or law gave women as many rights as Islam.”

Farhat Naik, director of Islamic Research Foundation (IRF) gave a speech on “Islam: the only refuge and the last resort for women.” She said that the entertainment media is propagating the western agenda of spreading the western culture and uprooting the Islamic values. She emphasized the importance of Quran and sunnah in our life.
