Justice Mitting, who is Britain’s most senior immigration judge, invoked human rights laws to spare the man, who does not dispute claims that he poses a risk to national security, after hearing that he may not be put on suicide watch while in Algerian custody, Daily Express reported.

The move means the 43-year-old man, known only as G, can stay in Britain despite being accused of funding Islamists trying to overthrow his home government and supporting international terrorists in the country.

The latest ruling came two months after Justice Mitting provoked a huge public outcry after blocking the deportation of Jordanian hate preacher Abu Qatada.
