New Delhi : The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) Thursday approved projects for developing multipurpose and mechanized berths with allied facilities on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis at Haldia Dock II for a period of 30 years.
The projects have been approved at an estimated cost of Rs.821.40 crore for Haldia Dock II (North) and at an estimated cost of Rs.886.10 crore for Haldia Dock II (South).
According to an official release, the projects will enable Kolkata Port Trust to enhance its capacity by 23.4 MTPA (million tones per annum) and meet the demand for coal and other bulk cargo in the hinterland of Kolkata Port.
