CISF to guard 13 more installations

New Delhi : The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is likely to be inducted to guard 13 new key installations including airports and power plants across India this year, its chief said Friday.

The paramilitary force currently provides security cover to 307 undertakings, including eight added in 2012.

“Of the 13 new undertakings, the force will provide security cover to four airports and eight other undertakings including historical buildings, power project and a Dam project,” said CISF Director General Rajiv.

The four airports are those at Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh), Juhu (Maharashtra), Jamnagar (Gujarat) and Gagan project in Bangalore.

The others are the Koldam Hydroelectric Project (Himachal Pradesh), the IG Mint Kolkata, the North Eastern Space Application Centre in Umaiam (Meghalaya), DSTPS power plant at Andal (West Bengal), the Victoria Memorial and Indian Museum in Kolkata, SAIL Jagdishpur (Uttar Pradesh), Mouda Super Thermal Power Project (Maharashtra), the cargo scanning centre in Kochi and Teesta Low Dam Project-III (West Bengal).
