Ghaziabad : Two senior citizens, a mother and her son, were killed in Ghaziabad on International Women’s Day Friday.
Girija Devi, 85, and her son S. Kumar, 62, were found murdered in their house in Raj Nagar, police said.
Devi was the wife of a retired BSNL officer. Her son had also retired from the same company.
The incident came to light at 11.30 a.m. Friday when an employee of a LPG cylinder agency rang their doorbell. When he did not get any response, he informed neighbours, who called police.
Police found Kumar in a pool of blood in the kitchen. Devi was found dead in her bedroom. Both had their necks slit.
“We are trying to ascertain the cause of the crime. Prima facie it seems to be a property dispute. The bodies have been sent for post mortem,” police said.
