New Delhi: A 26-year-old criminal involved in a head constable’s killing and other criminal cases was arrested here, police said Wednesday.
Paras, a resident of Panipat in Haryana, was arrested from north Delhi’s Timarpur Tuesday, police said.
The accused, along with his gang leader Surender Malik and associates Kale and Sandeep, shot dead head constable Ram Kishan, 49, past-midnight Dec 25, 2012 in Kanjhawala in north Delhi, police said.
The head constable was checking vehicles at a picket when he was shot dead by the accused, police said.
“Paras was involved in more than 20 cases including murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping-cum-murder, extortion, dacoity and robbery. He attacked police teams twice,” said Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, deputy commissioner of police (special cell).
“A Delhi court had issued non-bailable arrest warrants against all the four accused and Delhi Police had declared cash reward on their arrest,” said the officer.
