New Delhi: A candle vigil and peace march was organised in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar on the continuous attacks on Hindus, Shias and Christians in Pakistan, who are minority in the country. Organizations such as Jamia Old Boys Association (JOBA), SIMT, and Khudai Khidmatgar jointly organized the programme against human rights violations in Pakistan.
The peace march started from Masjid Khalilullah in Batla house and reaches Dr Zakir Hussain’s Musoleum in the campus of Jamia Millia Islamia.
Jamia Old Boys Association President Javed Aalam led the peace march and the Secretary of JOBA Arshad Zeeshan Siddiqui received the march near Jamia Campus and organized a candle vigil near Dr Zakir Hussain mausoleum.
SIMT Director Sheikh Mohd Jilani said, “Violation on minorities cannot be tolerated in any way. We oppose all forms of violation and request the citizens of Pakistan to be co-operate with the minorities”.
Khudai khidmatgar Leader Faisal Khan while addressing the march said, “Violence in the name of religion is not taught anywhere and in the name of saving religious identity and religion, they are the ones working against Islam.”
