Rihai Manch (Forum for the Release of Innocent Muslims imprisoned in the name of Terrorism), Socialist Front of India, Indian National League, Socialist Party and National Forum for Muslim Struggle held a joint meeting and demanded that the government fulfill promises it made before the elections.

They pointed out that instead of releasing those already behind bars, government rather tried to misinform people by falsely declaring in the Parliament that many Muslim youths have been released.

They also highlighted that the Nimesh Commission Report that clearly implicates police officials and call Khalid’s arrest in connection with the court attack case as fabricated has not been released for over six months now.

They alleged that the increasing number of communal riots under SP government and the recent murder of DSP Ziaul Haq by the goons of Raja Bhaiya appear to be pointing towards some sought of collusion with the Hindutva forces in spoiling the communal harmony of the state for reaping its fruits in the 2014 general elections.
